Virtual Food Drive

The Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin serves hundreds of families, children and seniors on a daily basis through the food banks main pantry and its many satellite pantries throughout San Joaquin County. To meet the increasing demand for food assistance, the Food Bank supplements the donated food we receive with purchases of various shelf-stable items, many of which are nutritionally-dense and healthy.

To get more healthy and nutritious food out to those in need in our community, the Virtual Food Drive program allows you, the donor, to purchase bag(s) of groceries filled with nutritious food items through our online website. All monetary donations are used to purchase highly nutritious food items in these bags and directly distributed to families, children and seniors in need.

What does my monetary donation purchase?

The food bank purchases many of its supplemental food items at whole-sale costs from many local food distributors. As a member of the California Association of Food Banks, the Emergency Food Bank is able to participate in the Farm to Family program, which enables us to purchase large amounts of fresh, seasonal produce at pennies per pound.

Each grocery bag of nutritious food items retails in the supermarket for $40.00. But at minimal costs, the Emergency Food Bank is able to purchase all items for only $20.00 per bag.

This program allows your tax-deductible donation to go towards purchasing grocery bag(s) filled with nutritious food items. Once you’ve selected the amount of grocery bags you would like to donate, proceed to the virtual checkout and pay with your credit card (Use the Donate Now button on the left hand side of this page). The Virtual Food Drive allows you to leverage more food for your donation and is convenient and easy to use.
