Super Bowl XLIII Raffle: United Way of San Joaquin County Presents A Super Bowl XLIII Raffle, benefiting United Way Designated Charities.  You can purchase tickets from the Emergency Food Bank for $100 and have a chance to win one of Six Grand Prize Packages.  Each package includes 2 tickets to Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa Bay on February 1, 2009 plus $2,000 cash for travel expenses.  There will be many other great prizes available also.  Winners will be announced December 11, 2008 and you need not be present to win.  This was generously provided by Alex and Faye Spanos and Family.  For more information click here or call the EFB, (209) 464-7369.  If you would like to purchase tickets please call Kristine Gibson at EFB.

KCRA Kids Can Food Drive, October 10 to November 7, 2008:  Coordinated by KCRA Channel 3 TV in local schools throughout the county.  This food and can drive inspires most of the local school districts throughout San Joaquin County to get behind a major food drive during the holiday season - supplying food and nutrition to the EFB for the holiday months and into the New Year.  This year's KCRA Kids Can Drive Thru Event will be October 10, 2008 at Weberstown Mall from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  For more information click here and click on the KCRA Kids Can logo or call the EFB, (209) 464-7369.

“Stuff the Bus” Food Drive, November 14-16, 2008: Done in conjunction with San Joaquin Regional Transit Authority and Food-4-Less, this event gathers hundreds of food shoppers at Food 4 Less on Hammer Lane, and over the course of 3 days, collects two full bus-loads of canned and frozen foods to support the holiday food and nutrition needs of the Emergency Food Bank.  For more information please call the EFB, (209) 464-7369.

The Run and Walk Against Hunger --Thursday, November 27, 2008 (Click Here):  A 5K run and walk, 10 K run and 1/4 mile Kids Run and Walk, starting at the Stockton Arena and finishing inside the Stockton Ports Baseball Park.  This is the fourth annual run/ walk and hopefully draw 2,500 serious and occasional runners and family walkers to a fun event which showcases downtown Stockton and the waterfront.  You can also register at www.active.com or go to the run website at www.runagainsthunger.org

Christmas Can Tree drive, late November to end of December:
Done in conjunction with Central Valley Association of Realtors and the Downtown City Centre Cineplex, this month-long can and fund drive collects tons of food and funding to support the Emergency Food Bank and Salvation Army-Stockton during the holidays.  This year all the cans for the Cantree were donated by Del Monte Lathrop.  Thank you Del Monte Lathrop!!

The Feinstein Challenge, March 1st - April 30, 2009: All donations receive from March 1st through April 30th, 2009 and earmarked for the Feinstein Challenge can earn the Emergency Food Bank more money.  All you need to do is either send us a monetary donation, have a food drive or just bring us a food donation and tell us it's for the Feinstein Challenge.  The more we receive the more money we can get from the Feinstein Foundation.   For more information please call Kristine Gibson at the EFB at 464-7369.

National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, May 9, 2009: A unified, county-wide can and fund drive done in conjunction with the United States Postal Service Letter Carriers.  In 2008 this food drive collected over 25,000 pounds of food for EFB.  For more information, and how you can help, call the EFB, 209.464.7369.

Mayor's Hike & Bike, May 2, 2009:     A  family event where you can either hike or bike your choice of routes to help three agencies support their food and nutrition programs.  The Emergency Food Bank, Catholic Charities and the Gospel Center Rescue Mission are teaming up, with the backing of the Mayor, to put on this event which should prove to be a fun event.  The event will start at the Children's Museum of Stockton and wind through downtown Stockton, over to the Miracle Mile, on to the Haggin Museum and then back to the Children's Museum.  With the bike part you will have the choice of riding out to Buckley Cove and then back to the Children's Museum for a total of about 16 miles.  After you finish your hike or bike you will be able to participate in a Fitness and Health Fair.  For more information, call the EFB, (209) 464-7369.

National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA-Stockton) Golf Tourney, July 2009 (Click Here): Partnering with the Emergency Food Bank, The NAIFA-Stockton Charity Golf Tournament will sponsor its 34rd Annual Charity event at Elkhorn Country Club. The Greater Stockton Emergency Food Bank has been the recipient of the proceeds of this event for the past several years.  Over the 33 years the Stockton Association has given almost $300,000 to local charities and has included several hundred business and professional golfers and volunteers. The Best of San Joaquin Gala, October 15, 2009:     A gala event at the Stockton Civic Auditorium done in conjunction with The Record's Best of San Joaquin section.  This event will feature past and present winners of the Best of San Joaquin categories as well as many others.  We will have restaurants, wineries, breweries, retail stores and entertainment from San Joaquin County represented at this fun event.  For more information, call the EFB, (209) 464-7369.

National Hunger Awareness Day, June 3, 2008, We are celebrating on June 5th:     A day to shine a bright light on the plight of hunger and food-insecurity in Stockton and San Joaquin County.  The Emergency Food Bank will be hosting an Open House at our facility on Thursday, June 5, 2008.  Please come down and join us for a tour of our facility and see what's happening at the Emergency Food Bank.  More information to follow on the 2008 festivities.  For more information, call the EFB, (209) 464-7369.

Health and Nutrition Fair, September 25, 2008: The Emergency Food Bank will be hosting a FREE health fair on September 25, 2008. Turkey Auction, Mid-November 2007: A partnership with Kiwanis Club of Stockton, this event gathers 100 + community leaders for a fun night of conviviality, good food and grog, and an active auction of auction items including “those turkeys” we all have in our back home closets.
